The GYTC8S Outdoor Cable is a premium outdoor self-supporting fiber optic cable designed for aerial telecommunication networks. Its distinctive "figure-8" cross-section integrates a high-strength steel messenger wire with the optical cable core, enabling self-supporting aerial installation without the need for separate messenger strands or lashing equipment. Manufactured in compliance with YD/T 1155-2001 and IEC 60794-2-1 standards, the GYTC8S delivers exceptional mechanical robustness and transmission reliability across a wide range of environmental conditions.
Cable Construction & Design Features
The GYTC8S Outdoor Cable employs a stranded loose tube configuration in which 250μm optical fibers are housed within high-modulus PBT loose tubes filled with specialized water-blocking jelly compound. These tubes, along with filler rods, are helically stranded around a central metallic strength member-typically a phosphorized steel wire that provides high modulus and corrosion resistance. The stranded core is then wrapped with a corrugated steel tape (PSP) armor layer, followed by an integrated PE sheath that encapsulates both the cable core and the steel messenger wires into the signature "8" shape.
