GYFXTY Outdoor Cable
The GYFXTY Outdoor Cable is a non-metallic, central loose tube outdoor fiber optic cable engineered for reliable performance in aerial, duct, and direct burial installations. Its all-dielectric construction makes it particularly suitable for environments with electromagnetic interference and lightning-prone areas. Featuring a compact and lightweight design, the GYFXTY cable offers a practical solution for core networks, metropolitan area networks, and access networks.
Cable Structure
The GYFXTY Outdoor Cable positions 250μm optical fibers within a loose tube made of high-modulus PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) material. The tube is filled with a water-resistant compound to provide critical protection for the fibers. Over the tube, water-blocking tape and Kevlar or E-glass yarn are applied to ensure longitudinal water tightness. Two parallel non-metallic FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) strength members are placed on both sides of the tube to provide tensile strength and structural stability. The cable is completed with a durable polyethylene (PE) outer sheath, with LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) or Nylon options available.
Applications
The GYFXTY Outdoor Cable is designed for versatile deployment scenarios:
Aerial Installation: Optimized for overhead deployments with excellent tensile strength to withstand wind loads and external pulls.
Duct Installation: Suitable for underground conduit systems with compact dimensions that ease pulling through ducts.
Direct Burial: Robust construction with water-blocking layers enables direct burial applications.
High-Voltage Proximity: The all-dielectric, non-conductive design ensures safe operation near power lines and in electrical power systems.
Lightning-Prone Areas: Eliminates the risk of lightning induction, ensuring network safety in storm-heavy regions.
Product Advantages
All-Dielectric Construction: Non-metallic FRP strength members make the cable immune to electromagnetic and radio frequency interference, ideal for deployment near power lines and in areas with severe electromagnetic interference.
Superior Water Protection: The water-resistant filling compound in the loose tube, combined with water-blocking tape layers, ensures the cable remains watertight across its entire length.
Excellent Mechanical Performance: The cable offers outstanding tensile strength (up to 1200 N short-term) and crush resistance (up to 1000 N), ensuring durability during installation and operation.
Compact and Lightweight: With a small diameter (7.2 mm) and light weight (45 kg/km), the cable is easy to handle, transport, and install, reducing labor costs and deployment time.
Wide Temperature Range: Operating from -40°C to +70°C, the cable performs reliably across diverse climatic conditions.
Weather-Resistant Sheath: The PE outer sheath provides excellent UV radiation resistance and protection against environmental degradation.
Low Attenuation and Dispersion: The cable supports low signal loss with attenuation ≤0.36 dB/km at 1310nm and ≤0.22 dB/km at 1550nm, ensuring high-quality transmission.

FAQ
Q1: What does the "GYFXTY" cable designation mean?
The GYFXTY designation indicates a non-metallic central loose tube outdoor cable. "GY" denotes outdoor cable, "F" indicates non-metallic strength members (FRP), "X" refers to the central tube structure, "T" stands for loose tube construction, and "Y" indicates a polyethylene (PE) outer sheath.
Q2: Is the GYFXTY cable suitable for installation near power lines?
Yes. The GYFXTY cable features an all-dielectric, non-metallic construction with FRP strength members, making it non-conductive and immune to electromagnetic interference. This makes it safe and ideal for aerial deployment near high-voltage power lines.
Q3: What laying methods are supported by the GYFXTY cable?
The GYFXTY cable supports multiple laying methods including aerial (overhead), duct (underground conduit), direct burial, and underwater applications.
Q4: What is the maximum number of fibers available for the GYFXTY cable?
The GYFXTY cable is available with fiber counts ranging from 2 to 24 cores, with 2–12 cores being the most common configuration.
Q5: What sheath material options are available for the GYFXTY cable?
The standard sheath material is black polyethylene (PE), which provides excellent UV resistance. Optional sheath materials include LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) for indoor or confined-space applications, and Nylon for enhanced mechanical protection.
