GJXH Indoor/Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable
Every fiber link crosses a boundary. The feeder network stops at the property line, and something must carry the signal the rest of the way - across a yard, up an external wall, through a garage, and into the room where the service actually ends. GJXH Indoor/Outdoor Fiber Optic Cable is built for exactly that journey: one continuous cable that serves both sides of the building envelope, so installers no longer need a separate outdoor drop spliced to an indoor riser at the wall.
The design trades nothing away in either environment. A compact central tube protects the fiber, dual strength members give the cable enough stiffness to be pulled through conduit or clipped along a boundary fence, and a weather-tolerant LSZH sheath resists UV exposure and moisture over short outdoor stretches while staying clean-burning inside occupied rooms. One reel, one cable, one team - the handover zone at the facade simply disappears, and the gentle bend radius keeps crew size small even where the route crosses several surfaces before reaching the terminal.
Applications
Residential entry segments: From the external splice closure or wall-mounted terminal box to the indoor ONT, without an intermediate joint.
Campus and compound hops: Short above-ground runs between adjacent buildings, gatehouses, and utility rooms on the same site.
Semi-exposed zones: Underground car parks, basements, plant rooms, and covered walkways where temperature swings and dampness are a fact of life.
Rural single-dwelling links: A lone house fed from a roadside distribution point, where trenching full ductwork is disproportionate to the demand.
Temporary and container sites: Event cabins, site offices, and modular units that need a reliable link that can be re-deployed next week.
Transition from feeder to indoor network: A single specification that bridges the outdoor drop and the indoor distribution, simplifying project supply.
Multi-floor handoffs: Where a riser cable meets the floor loop, this type carries the last leg through the common area and into each suite without re-cabling.
Advantages
Splice-free transition: Eliminating the wall-side joint removes a common failure point and saves the time a fusion splice demands.
Weather-tolerant sheath: UV-stabilized LSZH formulation endures brief sun exposure and rain without cracking, flaking, or discoloring.
Wide operating range: Stable performance from -20°C to +60°C, covering seasonal extremes without the gel-drainage issues of filled outdoor cables.
Moisture defense: Water-blocking elements in the core stop creeping dampness at the entry point from reaching the fiber over time.
Dual strength members: Composite rods absorb pull and crush in both pulling directions, so the same handling works for a fence clip or a ceiling tray.
One-supplier simplicity: A single cable type for the entry zone cuts inventory, training, and the risk of a mismatched joint on site.
Fire-safe indoors: The zero-halogen jacket keeps smoke and corrosive gases minimal if the indoor section is ever exposed to fire.
Fast deployment: Pre-terminated tail options let the outdoor end be spliced once and the indoor end plugged straight into the ONT.

FAQ
Q1: Is it really acceptable to run an indoor-style cable outdoors?
Yes, for the short handover distances this product is designed for. The sheath is UV-stabilized and the core is moisture-protected, so brief exposure along a wall or fence is fine. It is not intended for long aerial spans or permanent trench burial - those remain the job of dedicated outdoor cables.
Q2: How far can the outdoor portion extend?
As a practical guide, keep the exposed stretch under 30 meters and avoid standing water and direct year-round sunlight. For longer routes, step up to a fully outdoor drop and meet this cable at a junction box.
Q3: Do I need a splice closure at the building wall?
Not necessarily. The whole point is to avoid one. If the outdoor run ends at a terminal box, the cable can continue straight inside through a wall entry gland. A closure is only needed where a separate feeder cable must be joined.
Q4: How does it cope with condensation and temperature swings?
Water-blocking elements handle moisture ingress, and the wide temperature range covers the thermal cycling found in garages and plant rooms. Unlike gel-filled designs, there is no filling compound to drain or attract dust indoors.
Q5: What termination options are available?
Both ends can be prepared to order: field-terminated with mechanical connectors, or factory-pre-terminated with pigtails at the outdoor end and a connector at the indoor end for true plug-and-play installation.
GJXH Indoor/Outdoor is available with one, two, or four fibers, in black or grey weather-resistant sheaths, on drums or cut-to-length coils. Factory termination with LC or SC connectors and optional wall entry glands can be supplied. Samples and bulk quotations are available on request.
